September in Surrey
As we all return from the summer break, there is still plenty of fun to be had in our local area!
September sees Guildford and Surrey playing host to a variety of food and drink events. From festivals and fizz to farmers’ markets, there’s something for everyone. Here’s our top picks for the month ahead.
Gin Fest Surrey – 7 September
If you have a taste for gin, this Guildford-based event will be right up your street! Taking place on the front lawn of the stunning Loseley Park manor house, you can expect live music, gin distillers, craft beer and more – cheers to that!
Haslemere and Ripley Farmers’ Markets – 7 and 14 September
If markets are more your style, the Haslemere Farmers’ Market also takes place on the 7 September. It opens at 10am and is located on Haslemere High Street. Additionally, the Ripley Farmers’ Market takes place a week later, starting at 9am and hosted on Ripley green. Both feature a selection of locally produced goods such as crafts, speciality foods and plants.
Tour & Tasting at Chilworth Manor – 19 and 21 September
Throughout September there are a number of experiences to tour the Chilworth Manor Vineyard. It begins at 6:00pm where, after walking around the vineyard, you’ll be able to taste a selection of wines paired with specially prepared complimentary bites. Make sure to book tickets – but hurry, they are limited!
The Surrey Chilli Festival – 21 and 22 September
If you are looking to spice up September, this event is just for you! The festival features a huge choice of food and drink stalls that utilise hot and spicy chillies in their products. If spicy is not for you they also have a selection of ‘non chillified’ foods available. It starts at 11am both days, with live music, and a live chilli eating competition on stage – phew!
Farnham’s Food and Drink Festival – 29 September
To top off the month, Farnham’s Food and Drink Festival is the place to be! It is one of the biggest one-day food festivals in the south-east of England. Hosted on Castle Street, the event will entertain over 100 food and drink traders. From baked treats, street food and unique cuisine to freshly made cocktails – there will be plenty for you to enjoy.
We hope the above tickles your tastebuds. For even more local things to do in September and beyond, check out the VisitSurrey and ExperienceGuildford websites. Enjoy!
